Our family director of emergency management, James Miers, had a very busy day preparing for Hurricane Irene. (Or what Josh called the "Non-Hurricane Hurricane")
All apartments were instructed to clear their patios, so James
got right to work helping Mom clear patio furniture and plants.
James was quick to test the durability of our outdoor furniture.
It checked out.
James supervised while Dad cleaned out a 7 gallon jug for water.
The soapsuds were not going to get bubbly all by themselves.
James pats the windows down. Yes, they feel strong and wind proof.
James dragged his chair to the window for a front row seat.
The storm was, frankly, dissapointing for Daddy and James.
For being their first hurricane ever, it did nothing more than
become a nuisance when we lost power for 15 hours.
But, that's okay! We decided to go out to eat at Subway
where our food could be just the right temperature and not
taste of aluminum.
